It has been a while since I last wrote a blog. A lot has happened in that time. I have moved house, sorted out my finances, I am training clients and have done plenty of networking and attending seminars. I also spent the last week off after having a major dental procedure done. Now, I have healed its time to get back to the grindstone and begin publishing new content.
I believe that networking has helped me grow the business, as now people are really interested in what Personal Protection Training actually does. One lady in particular, stood out from the usual suspects I come into conversation with who really took a liking to what we do.
I will set the scene for you. I have had the opportunity to attend an Allan and Barbara Pease VIP weekend at their home in November and even though I flew up to Queensland on my own, I was certain it would be a valuable experience.
I was not only truly impressed with the things I learnt but also the people I would meet. I have long been a fan of the Pease's as I had purchased "The Definitive Book of Body Language" and "Easy Peasey" to help me transition from shy introvert to seasoned crowd controller and security officer. These books taught me plenty about human behaviour and social skills and I still credit the authors Allan and Barbara helping me become the person I am today.
Anyway, I made friends with one particular lady in attendace who not only showed me she had substance, but also had a wicked sense of humour and most importantly a desire to help others. She is on a similar mission to me, and her goal is to help empower women to reach their full
potential. When I look at Larrissa, I see a fun loving, confident and beautiful woman but from what she told me in this interview there is more to her then meets the eye. I do intend to do some projects with her in the next year and together we will have a greater impact concerning the topic of Domestic Violence. So without further ado, lets hear from Larrissa.
It’s rare that I connect with people from seminars or workshops on a deeper level. Larissa, please tell me how you became involved with self development? Tell us a bit about your personal journey and what you do for a living?
I didn’t realise but I was empowering women for years before I started this Biz.
I owned 3 mechanic workshops with my ex husband and created and held Women VIP nights to help empower them when it came their cars and dealing with a male dominated industry. How to change a tire, check oil and basics.
Last August my life changed dramatically, that marriage was over and I had a really strong calling to start my business as a women empowerment coach.
I studied my NLP certification and have just recently completed my Breath Coach certification.
Only a short time ago I was one of the most negative mindset, depressed, self loathing people I knew. I was broke and broken. It was in a Tony Robbins event at UPW that I realised I was living with my eyes wide SHUT! I was choosing to suffer , putting the keys to my happiness in someone else’s pocket. Something had to change, and it had to start with me.
So I started my inner work, inner healing and woke my Warrior Within.
And now it’s my life work and souls purpose to help heal women.
How does your company help those it serves?
I hold workshops , retreats and 1:1 coaching and we dive deep into removing blocks, limiting self beliefs that are holding you back. I also facilitate ice baths, breaking wood with your own hand, and push you to show you what you are capable of.
Have you had any negative experiences that you have dealt with or overcome that you would like to share with our readers?
Yes, I’ve been in two toxic long term relationships. This took a toll on my self esteem, self worth, and mental state. I was also extremely over weight and have lost 55kgs over a few years. Had post natal depression for several years.
Have you had any positive experiences that you have experienced as a result of your past trauma that you would like to share with our readers?
I don’t regret anything from my past. It’s absolutely shaped me and created the woman that I am now! I’m so strong, it’s a beautiful thing to say I was broken and stomped on and I survived. I feel like the rise is always the sweetest victory, like a Phoenix rising from the flames.
Because of my past I can also relate and really fully understand my clients as I have been where they are. Pain changes people, I don’t think we are ever the same again.
Happiness is our birthright so it’s my job to help my clients find their happy and instead of suffering love the most beautiful life that they deserve. Free from past trauma, and teach them how to thrive. Turning their pain into power.
